The launch of our unique project coincides with the emergence of trends we’ll be seeing this spring and which will accompany us into the summer. From minimal garments with retro touches and vintage aesthetics to floral and airy designs ideal for the warmer months, these styles bring comfort and effortless elegance to every look.

Last September’s runway shows sparked the search for the most stylish looks, with several figures from the showbiz world already embracing these trends and adding their own personal touch and aesthetic. IDEAL has chosen to highlight some of the key elements that will shape fashion for Spring/Summer 2025 and presents them to you in detail.

BEWITCHED AESTHETIC

The trend that made its comeback as early as mid-autumn — sparked by the releases of the films Beetlejuice and Nosferatu — inspired the creation of gothy but elegant pieces in a dark romance aesthetic. The release of global entertainer Lady Gaga’s latest album, Mayhem, along with her much-anticipated Coachella performances and the announcement of her upcoming world tour, seems to be prolonging the bewitched trend. Fashion houses and designers like the always-dark Rick Owens, Demna Gvasalia of Balenciaga, and Valentino are pulling out all the stops to stand out.

DENIM ON DENIM

(...ON DENIM ON DENIM)

Always in style and forever an all-time classic, denim is once again taking center stage this season. With many international fashionistas already stepping out in Canadian tuxedos — looks that pair a denim top or jacket with wide-leg jeans and skirts — it’s clear that major fashion brands like Levi's and Madewell are having a moment. Beyoncé’s upcoming world tour, embracing the familiar country aesthetic of Cowboy Carter, is yet another reminder that denim never dies.

FLAMING RED TOMATOES

Red hues are once again taking the spotlight this year—but with a noticeable shift. From the deep burgundy that carried us through winter, we’re now transitioning to a vibrant, almost neon tomato red. A shade that feels unmistakably summery, fresh, and full of energy, making it the ultimate must-have for the warmer months ahead. Balmain, Off-White, Ferragamo, and Bottega Veneta are just a few of the fashion houses that spotlighted this bold color on the runway in their latest collections, declaring its reign over this summer’s style.

The trend — straight out of the era when Kurt Cobain rocked his beloved checkerboard shirts —brought grunge aesthetics into the spotlight, and now it’s making a comeback with a fresh, spring-ready twist. It’s full of energy and carries a youthful, almost teenage spirit. Plaid, but make it chic. From t-shirts, tank tops, and button-downs to statement outerwear and flowing maxi skirts.

TULLE WRAPS

There was a time when sheer elements in an outfit were considered controversial — due to the nudity and exposure they implied, whether partially or fully. Today, however, it's almost a given that during the warmer months especially, tulle and similarly semi-transparent fabrics are key components in the collections of major fashion houses and designers. These materials are now seamlessly integrated into the construction and styling of looks, artistically wrapping around garments and bodies of all kinds. From sheer skirts and tops to delicately veiled pieces, transparency is having its moment, offering a breezy, lightweight solution for the season. Whether used as a layering element or worn directly against the skin, see-through is here — and it’s here to stay.

FITNESS AT ITS BEST

With major events like the Paris Olympics, football cups, and Vogue World 2024 — which notably featured athletes stepping into model roles — sportswear has become a focal point for many fashion houses over the past year, making its way into Spring/Summer 2025 collections. From Miu Miu’s vibrant, block-coloured jackets to Balenciaga’s latest collaboration with Puma for Fall ’25 — which already seems to be gaining traction — the world of sports has deeply infiltrated fashion, and it shows no signs of slowing down.
